Named for Laird William Joass (1632-1707) of Banffshire, Scotland, this official tartan represents the Joass/Joss/Joise origins of Clan Joyce of Ulster. The color yellow represents William Joass’ role as a Laird; blue represents the coast of Banff, Scotland, and the Joass family ancestry, family & history; brown represents his role as a cattleman; grey represents his role as a Presbyterian Pastor and green represents hope, joy and loyalty in love.

Named for the first clan chief of Clan Joyce of Ulster, this official tartan represents all the Joyce/Joass/Joss/Joise septs within Clan Joyce of Ulster. The blue is intended to represent the Ulster-Scots origins of David and his relatives; green for his Joyce ancestry from Ulster, Ireland; and white is intended to represent the successful genealogical mission of David and his relatives to research the Ulster-Scots Joyce family history.

Named for Thomas Joyce (1722-1780) and Alexander Joyce (1720-1778) of Ballynahinch, County Down, this official tartan represents part of the Ulster-Scot origins of Clan Joyce of Ulster. The color green represents the birth place of Thomas and Alexander in County Down; white represents the hope they found in the new world; black represents the struggles their ancestors experienced in County Down; dark brown represents their occupation as farmers; dark blue represents their Joass origins in Scotland.
